Trade shows, exhibitions and conferences have all been great ways for businesses and individuals to come together in order to make industry connections and learn something new. Over the last 12 months, those trade shows and other key events have either had to be cancelled or adapted to fit in with the new normal of social distancing and travel restrictions.
As businesses continue to try and continue as best they can, virtual events have become more popular, allowing conferences and other industry events to go ahead in a different format. Promotional products can help to make the attendees of your virtual event feel connected and a part of the day’s agenda, as well as providing them with a little gift to say thanks for their participation.
So, how can you integrate branded products into your virtual event?
People usually attend events to learn more about something and be part of that industry community. A virtual event can still create some of that togetherness, but sending out promotional products to the attendees could take it a step further.
You could send out coffee mugs or water bottles with your company’s branding or the strapline for the event, or even notepads and pens so everyone can take notes throughout the day. This way, each person automatically has something in common and it can provide a great talking point.
If you were looking to do something on a smaller scale, make sure your host or staff working the event have some form of branded products to indicate that they are a part of the company. This can be a helpful reminder to attendees.
Make sure any promotional products used by staff can be seen on camera. Many computer cameras may have limited view, so think carefully about this. Having branding on the bottom of a mug so it can be seen when someone takes a sip can be a very clever exposure trick. Similarly, if there is any branding on clothing or bags, be sure they are placed somewhere visible to others.
Similar to traditional in-person events, people still need to sign up for virtual events. Unfortunately, you will get some people that sign up and then don’t turn up, either due to a change of heart of clash in schedule. You could offer a little more encouragement by sending out a giveaway product as a thank you for registering, which might inspire a little more loyalty on the day of the event.
Similarly, you could use a promotional product as a gift for early sign ups to encourage interest in your event from the moment it’s announced.
